Atop the rolling hills of Tavernerio, where the earth seems to brush the azure waters of Lake Como, this thriving location stands as the perfect showcase of Italy's natural landscape. From this point, one can behold a vista that stretches uninterrupted, a canvas of majesty and calm.

The apartment, nestled among other equally enchanting residences, reigns supreme with its panorama. The goal of this project is to celebrate the harmonious merging of human habitation and nature's magnificence. Designed as an escape from the hustle of nearby Milan, this apartment invites its inhabitants to dive into the beauty that surrounds them.  Its minimalist interior design acts like a blank canvas, allowing the beauty of the Como hills to shine through vividly. In every corner, simplicity and elegance take the lead, showcasing the timeless charm of the surroundings.

Fusion of cultures

In a harmonious blend of Japanese and Italian influences, our primary objective was to craft a space that integrates various Japanese elements, all while incorporating the warmth and vibrancy of Italian aesthetics. After a careful selection of woods and materials, we aimed to recreate an ambiance that resonated with both cultures and aesthetics.

Drawing inspiration from the refined elegance of Japanese design and the vibrant warmth of Italian aesthetics, we curated a selection of woods and materials that speak to the essence of both worlds. Each element was chosen with care, to create an ambiance that resonates with the spirit of cultural fusion.

At the heart of this fusion lies the living/bedroom space, a sanctuary where tradition meets modernity in perfect harmony.

Here, the focal point is a raised platform adorned with tatami, a nod to Japanese tradition that serves as a reminder of the enduring connection between past and present.

As one steps into this space, they are enveloped in a symphony of light and warmth, a sensory experience that transcends geographical boundaries and invites them to explore the depths of cultural diversity. From the natural textures of wooden lamellas to the sleek sophistication of black furniture, every detail has been carefully curated to create a seamless transition between interior and exterior, culminating in the breathtaking terrace that embraces the flourishing valley below.
