E house

E house
Eco-Centric Living Prototype E

The E House is designed as a monolithic structure resembling a traditional house. Its form is cut out to create shaded areas, maximize natural light, and enhance indoor-outdoor activities. Eco-centric in design, the house adopts passive and active strategies for self-sufficiency. Its simple geometry, with carved voids, encourages exploration, connects with the surroundings, and optimizes natural resources like light, water, and air. Shaded patios and courtyards act as transitional spaces, creating a microclimate and reducing energy use. A rainwater collection system supports gardening and household needs, while photovoltaic panels meet part of the electricity demand. Full-height glazing offers uninterrupted views, blending indoors with the Piedmont landscape. The material palette contrasts light pine for the interior and dark pine for the exterior, allowing nature’s colors to stand out.
