Spirit of Canada
The forest in the Canadian Pavilion shows Canada's magnificent natural world and its commitment to protecting its biodiversity. The entire path invites visitors to experience a holistic view of the world in which humans are a part and not the center of it. A vision that is key to innovation, solutions, relationships, and progress. Visitors will initially be drawn to the forest's striking architecture, only to be enveloped by its towering trees. The forest is the natural embodiment of the first and furthest part of the journey, laying the foundation for the next steps. We offer a highly innovative interactive show that delivers a powerful, emotional and memorable experience. The approach is personal and focuses on the significance of Canada-related themes: how do they affect everyday people and their dreams and ambitions for the future?
The Canadian forest landscape is iconic and encompassing. At 400 million hectares, it accounts for 10% of the world’s forests and, with its beauty and majesty, it is the very spirit of Canada.
Pavilion forest
Our Pavilion Forest stands as a tribute to Canada’s natural landscapes and its commitment to biodiversity. Through its immersive design, it invites visitors to explore a holistic worldview that redefines humanity's place within the environment; not as the central focus, but as an integral part of a greater ecological system.
This perspective challenges the conventional narrative and offers a deeper understanding of how interconnected all living things are. By embracing this interconnectedness, the pavilion fosters a space for innovation, problem-solving, and meaningful relationships, offering solutions that prioritize sustainability and the well-being of the planet. Visitors are encouraged to reflect on the vital role nature plays in driving progress and to consider how embracing this mindset can lead to more harmonious and sustainable futures.
And one in which Canada leads the way in answering the most pressing questions of our time: how will we (re)define our search for balance and harmony? How will we shape a future in an accountable and sustainable way? How do we connect to each other responsibly and meaningfully?
Visitors will be drawn to the forest’s arresting architecture and then be enveloped in its trees. The forest is the key attractor and also the natural embodiment of the first and furthest part of the journey (the Source), laying the foundation for next stages (the Enablers and the Next Frontier).
The second and third stages are housed in a mirrored ‘Infinity’ beyond the trees, on the allocated plot. The Infinity mirrors the Forest, making it as seemingly endless as the Canadian Forests. The Infinity houses the VIP, conference and protocol functions, the functional spaces and offices.
